Filling the Gaps - with the Multi-Tap Delay!

The Multi-Tap Delay is a Device I always wanted to have in Live, since I remember. Now with all the new Live Rack Features, that came with Live 11, it totally makes Sense to build such a Device, as a Go-To Multi-Tap Delay with various Options, in Live.

Of course you could also use the Filter Delay to have three Delay Lines playing at different Speeds and Levels. But as the Filter Delay is adding one Delay to the Left, one to the Right and one to both Channels, you can’t get exactly the same Results as with the Multi-Tap Delay, which is processing three Delay Lines on both Channels by default.

Now, you can use the additional Utilities on Delay 1 and 3 (Left/Right) to make the Multi-Tap Delay work the same Way as the Filter Delay, but you can’t make the Filter Delay work the same Way as the Multi-Tap Delay.

Plus, you also have various Options like Filter Modulation, Ping Pong and Delay Mode available, which you don’t have on the Filter Delay. All that makes the Multi-Tap Delay a versatile Tool for Sound Design and creative Mixing.

BTW: If you want to switch the Multi-Tap Delay between sync (16th) and free (ms), you can use the hidden Macro 13 on the Main Page for that. But of course you can also just un-map any Parameter on one of the Delay Lines to give it the exact same Rhythm and Feel you want.
