Creating Stereo Width, with Ease!

The Haas Effect, generally allows to create a Stereo Image from a monophonic Sound Source, by delaying the left or right Channel by a few Milliseconds. Typically around 10 ms for Transient Sounds and up to about 150 ms for melodic non Transient Sounds.

The NEW Aligned Haas 2 also allows you to keep the Low End mono and use a Filter to filter-out unwanted Frequencies from the delayed Signal, or better said the Stereo Signal it creates.

You can use the Chain Mixer to pan the processed and unprocessed Signal independently if you want to. There is also a Utility at the Beginning of the Processing Chain that can be used to encode either the left or right Channel from the incoming Audio Signal. Activating the Channel Link (Link L/R) on the Align Delay would then allow to process only the delayed Signal.

(I will maybe integrate this more intuitively in another Update or the new Advanced Haas, I already have Plans for.)

Furthermore you can use the Filter Envelope and/or LFO to create even more interesting Results.

The Filter Morph can be used to change the Filter Shape from a High-Pass to a Low-Pass Filter with the Band-Pass in between.

The latest Release also features a Pitch Shifter, which allows to pitch the processed Signal up or down in Cents (ct) or Semitones (st).

BTW: If you want to find out more about the Haas Effect and the underlying Precedence Effect, I recommend reading the dedicated Wikipedia Article.

Requires Ableton Live 11.3 Standard (or higher).
